911 or emergency dentist or emergancy room or just ignor it ????
Many dentists have an emergency number or a pager service for after hours emergency service.

however if you have a cavity that has reached a nerve then you need to go to emergency services at your doctors office or the E.R. to get a run of antibiotics before the infection reaches any vital nerves or your brain.
Reply:Sounds like you need to see a dentist right away but if you're under aged it's hard to do anything without your parents. Even if you go to the ER on your own they still have to contact your parents before they can give you any pain medication. You said that you're on antibiotics. They are not going to take it out if it is infected. I'm very surprised they didn't prescribe you any pain medicine to tide you over til you could get to a dentist. I in the meantime, take a couple of ibuprofen, brush and floss your teeth well, and swish with some antiseptic mouthwash. Try not to eat anything on that side and stay away from anything sugary. It will aggravate it. Also try to stay out of the cold. Don't sit where there is a cold breeze. This can make it throb really bad and make your ear and even the side of your face hurt. One other thing, you can also buy a temporary filling. It's only a few bucks and you can buy at your local drug store or Walmart. I have had the same problem and it really worked.

I hope I have helped in someway. Good luck and take care of that tooth A.S.A.P. They can be really serious.
