What to do if emergency dentists are unavailable?

My dad is in unbearable pain. His tooth is killing him. We have called all the emergency dentists in our area and none called back. It keeps getting worse. What should he do?

What to do if emergency dentists are unavailable?
Most hospitals' Emergency Rooms have a dentist or oral surgeon on call........ get him there if no one calls you back.

Even if you aren't a patient of record at a dental office, an emergency is an emergency, especially in your case........someone should have had the courtesy to call you back.

Best of luck to you and your Dad.

:)
Reply:Keep calling make sure they are not closed if he is laying down have him sit up this keeps some of the presure from the toothtry salt water rinse and ibuprophin it is a pain reliever and anti inflamitory, I went threw tooth pain for 2 months not alot helps this all helped a little for me had all 3 teeth pulled Monday

Hope this helps
Reply:You can always go to an emergency room. Usually such pain is indicating an infection. That can affect the entire system, so it is medical, too. Don't wait.

I cannot understand, however, why he is not getting a call back. That is not right!

Good luck. Tooth pain is the pits!
Reply:IF HE IS IN EXCRUSIATING PAIN TAKE HIM TO AN URGENT CARE OR ER AT LEAST THEY CAN GIVE HIM ANTIBIOTICS AND PAIN MEDS DO YOU HAVE A REGULAR DENTIST IF YOU ARE NOT A PATIENT OF RECORD IN A OFFICE IT IS REAL HARD TO GET A DENTIST TO COME INTO TREAT BECAUSE THEY DONT ENTER INSURANCE PAYMENTS OR KNOW THE FEES ALSO YOU WOULD HAVE TO FILL OUT A HEALTH HISTORY AND MOST DENTISTS DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE THAT PAPERWORK IS SORRY HE IS IN PAIN BUT TRY THE ER
