Emergency Dentist?

Hey.

I've jut noticed I have a few visible cavities in my teeth, despite good oral hygene. I brush three time a day, floss twice a day, use fluoride mouthwash twice a day, don't drink/eat sugary thing, and my teeth are white from using Crest Whitening roduct.

I've got a emergency appointment tomorrow at a dentist i've never been to,because one of my molars broke, and now have a large hole over half the tooth and it is causing me a great deal of pain, I can't even eat,and noticed more cavities, except in a week i'm going out of town for a couple of months and can't cancel..,what are the chance my cavities will be filled before I go?Will I be checked and then told I have a appointment in three week?Apparently there is a waiting list for check up but will they take into account I need work done asap?

Thank you.

Emergency Dentist?
since your tooth pains, you need a RC or extarction.AS.
Reply:my tooth hurts also, i really honesty do feel your pain. Just go on a vicodin binge for a few days and you should be ok. that or just rip the damn tooth out with pair of pliers.
Reply:(1) You will or at least should get a full mouth examination including Xrays. (2) Then the Dr. will tell you how many dental problems you have and what he needs to do to correct them. (3) If all you have is several cavities that need filing, he will do as many as he has time for during that appointment. If on the other hand some of the filings are to deep and large, you may need a Root Canal or even a Crown. (4) As for your dedicated oral hygiene system you described, sorry I'm a bit skeptical about it..As for the number of cavities there are two possibilities..First, if you happen to be an excessive user of recreational drugs, they can ruin your teeth. On the other hand, the cavity issue may also be a DNA (gene) issue. It's well documented that even tooth decay can be a family gene issue. What ever the dentist finds, do the wise thing and take care of your teeth, you only get one set in life. Good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:thats why visiting your dentist regularly is necessary if you want to keep your teeth. Obviously you dont spend as much time with your teeth as you say or you need some new glasses. If you dont have glasses get some cause cavities dont start overnight.

You will be lucky if they address your broken tooth before you leave. Cavities will most likely take multiple appointments to xray and repair.

best of luck to you.

p.s. not razing on you, some people just have hard time with teeth. My brother had all the treatments growing up but lost all his teeth (due to smoking and not brushing), but sometimes its genetic.
Reply:they will more than likely fix the tooth that is hurting you and send you on your way with an appointment to have the rest fixed. if the rest doesn't hurt you and you will be back from out of town soon, don't worry.
