Here's what you do:

Get seen by your regular physician and have him check your sinuses and prescribe antibiotics, because you most probably have a sinus infection. If the antibiotics don't work, makee an appointment with an ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor to check your nose, teeth and address the source of your headaches. In any case, this is most likely not anything life threatening, but the longer you wait the worse it may get. Go before the weekend so you won't be in for any surprises when the doctor's offices are closed over the weekend.
Reply:It seems very likely that you have a sinus infection. Go to your family doctor and they'll give you medicine. I get these all the time and you will be just fine. In the meantime, take some aspirin to ease the pain.
Reply:you need to get thoroughly checked out by your doctor but do not start worrying yet. I have had similar pains for no reason ; it is called neuralgia (pain with no known cause) Teeth are notorious for this.

You could also be getting a type of migraine headache.
Reply:Sweetie when I was about ten i had the same thing, is it an infection?
Reply:If you recently had the flu, it might have setteld in your sinuses. See the doc and they'll check it out, maybe give you antbiotics.
Reply:It sounds like an infection probably caused by a cavity in a tooth. At any rate, you probably need antibiotics. Start on them soon because antibiotics take a few days to start working if the tooth is the source of your problem!
Reply:It could be a sinus infection. From what I have heard it is quite common to have a toothache even though the real problem stems from the sinus cavity. Go to the doctor and get some antibiotics, and don't worry!
Reply:Sounds like run of the mill sinusitis, which is infection in the sinuses around your face - what you're describing sounds as though you have infection in the maxilary sinus and possibly the frontal sinus.

If you touch your temples lightly, is it painful? Does it hurt when you brush your hair? If not, it's highly unlikely that you have temporal arteritis. And at the age of 17 it's highly unlikely that you have temporal arteritis in the first place!!

You should go to your doctor and get some antibiotics for the sinusitis, if you're truely concerned that you have temporal arteritis, ask him to do a blood test to check your ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), which will be grossly elevated in temporal arteritis.

But I think you're worrying far too much about what sounds very like a simple sinus infection.
