Wisdom teeth removal!!?

hi,

Im going to have my wisdom tooth removed tonight because its infected - and really painful, I went to see an emergency dentist a few days ago and she made me this apointment - but didnt really give me any info... what should i expect?!

Im not worried about infections or anything like that..

Has anyone else had it done?! - not under anesthetic.

Thank you!

Wisdom teeth removal!!?
It's really not that bad. Likely they'll put you under for it - one minute you're going to sleep, the next minute you're done!

If they're just giving you local anesthetic it's still not that bad. You can't feel pain, but the sensation of having your teeth pulled out is certainly... interesting. I was asleep for my wisdom teeth, but had 2 premolars pulled out under a local.

The pain afterward isn't so bad either - likely nothing compared to the infection! Just stick to soup and soft foods for a couple days.

The best way to ensure good and quick healing is after the first 2 days, begin a regimen of soaking the holes with hot water - as hot as you can stand. Hold the water at the back of your mouth until it cools or you can't any longer, then spit or swallow and repeat. As often as you think of it. You can do it with tea for flavour if you like but stay away from coffee - caffeine isn't so great for healing tissue.

My dentist recommended this to me when I had my wisdom teeth out, and they healed much faster than the premolars because of it! Not to mention it keeps the wounds clean by constantly flushing food and bacteria out.
Reply:Umm I had anesthesia, and if you're getting one removed, I recommend getting them all done at the same time, you have to get them removed at some point anyway, they will all eventually get infected. It wasn't bad for me at all, a little "laughing gas" and I didn't remember a thing, and the pain was very minimal after.
Reply:have you joined some religious cult?

any way all the best.I hope you get out of the dental chair alive.I like that part, not under anesthesia.
