Receding gums?

On Sunday I had an allergic reaction to a new toothpaste and had to go to an emergency dentist. Anyways where is was at is worse is now starting to recede. I went back in yesterday for a check-up and they said not to worry about it. Is that normal?

Receding gums?
That doesn't sound "normal" and I would be suggesting that you go back (perhaps somewhere that employs a Dental Hygienist) and have them look at that. Gums that recede usually stay that way so I think you are right to be concerned. Obviously you are not happy with just being told not to worry about it, so go and get another opinion.
Reply:i'm thinking "they" are the experts. so don't worry. if it doesn't normalize it can be repaired with minor oral surgery. i had it years ago and you'd never know it now.
Reply:hrmm i dont think any else knows here cause we are not experts ... so i think you should listen to your dentist
Reply:it could be that the recession is not gonna be a problem and should it become one- there are procedures that can be done later
