Serious DENTAL pain can some one tell me?

why cant my toothache go away. Ive tryed to explain to people \dentist that ive had hundreds of toothaches but this one is different. the pain is a twitching severe pain and its coming from a tooth with a whole in it. I know its my nerve but i went to the emergency dentists and had 3 injections to numb it and still felt every bit. I was crying and gripping the chair in immense pain and never before when i have fillings have i felt anything at all.The pain still keeps twitching and im nervous to go back cause ive never experienced anything like it. Any advice would be appreciated

Serious DENTAL pain can some one tell me?
You need to have a root canal done to remove the infected nerve. That is why your tooth is hurting so bad. The dentist should have done this to begin with not given you a filling. Please go see another dentist and have this taken care of soon. It is not good for your body to have an infection like that.
Reply:You should think about getting it pulled or having a root canal.

At the very least go to a different dentist - those emergency dentists just pedal pain meds and can't really fix bigger problems.
Reply:An exposed nerve is agonising,if you are having all this trouble, get a second opinion ,telling them exactly what is happening,if you have no relief go to your local doctor or hospital to gain relief.Positive action is needed.
Reply:you must go back!, or even to the hospital, you cant have pain like that!

Drs/Dentists are the only people who can help you!
Reply:If it is the lower sets, the nerve cannot be isolated to one tooth - uppers have individual nerves each, so it always hurts. Get to the dental hospital, it is free. Could be the start of an abcess
Reply:Sounds like you have a infection %26amp; need a course of antibotics. Your best going back to see the dentist.
Reply:You can get pain killers and other stuffs but these will only help to reduce the pain temporally, if its a good strong tooth with just a cavity and you don't want to remove it; I suggest you have a talk with your dentist and ask him/her to remove the nerve and put a permanent filling (it's the nerve that hurts and not the tooth) The only other thing that can cure a toothache is to extract it.
Reply:Oil of cloves is good for toothache. It's available from herbal remedy shops and comes in liquid form. Simplt dip a cotton bud into the bottle and then squash the bud into the hole. Oil of cloves (also called clove oil) is fantastic but tastes a bit horrible if spilt onto the tongue. Also take some disolved asprin prior to applying the oil of cloves. This method will take the edge off the pain.

Then ask your dentist for some antibiotics to remove the swelling around the tooth (it is the swollen area around the nerve which is causing the pain). Only when the swelling has gone down will the dentist be able to work on the tooth - he may kill the nerve, fill and cap the tooth or simply extract it. Modern day dentistry is practically painless. Ask friends about a good, simpathatic dentist , have the necessary work done and, above all, don't worry.
Reply:Ive had exactly the same problem with my tooth. Basically it started hurting but i didnt think ne thin of it, but then the pain became so bad that i couldnt do anything. I was crying the pain was so bad! I had a hole in the tooth n this was why it was hurtin cos of the nerve. So i couldnt keep living on painkillers so i made an emergency appointment and the dentist told me i could either have it out or he'd put sum medication on it to stop it hurtin. I'd gone thru enough so decided to have the tooth out. Ok the injection wasnt great but as soon as it came out i didnt feel the pain anymore! So thats what I suggest :) Good luck, i hope this helped.
Reply:It sounds to me like you might have a tooth abcess. This can get infected if you dont get it treated.I would go back to the dentist if i was you.
