How do i declare a dental emergency?

Hey all. Recently i lost a filling in a jaw tooth and with the holidays and such i didnt have the time to get it replaced, now this filling was a big one, had it in place after a root canal years ago, Since losing it most of the tooth has broken away and now i need whats left taken out as its causing a lot of pain.

I have the appointment with the dentist set up but they cant get me in for another 2 weeks, Ive been popping tylenol like candy to deal with the pain and it helps alot but i can't keep that up for fear of the damage it can cause.

So my question is "Can i declare some kind of dental emergency to get this sucker out?"

How do i declare a dental emergency?
Call the White House and have the President declare your tooth in a state of dental emergency.

Then call around to local oral sugeons and tell them your story so they can get you in ASAP and get the situation handled.

Also keep in mind that when a tooth is root therapied (canal), it is imperative to get the tooth restored with a crown right away. Procrastinating like you did after it was initially fixed and even after the filling fell out will only lead to pain and further breakdown. All of this could have been avoided if you would have handled the tooth properly after the root canal.

Good luck!!!
Reply:Two weeks is too long to suffer with a bad tooth.

If you have a regular dentist who won't see you immediately

with this emergency, DUMP HIM, he is worthless.

Start calling different dentists until you can find one

that will see you immediately.

Most dentists are able to fit an emergency patient in

while they are working on their scheduled patients.
Reply:You should look for a dentist in your area who takes emergency appointments, that way they have spaces available for situations like this. Your dentist should realize its an emergency and might want to stay later one day or book you into a cancellation to get it done sooner. Maybe tell them you're looking for another dentist and see what they do for you.
