EMERGENCY PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER !!!!!! help me !?
If it's not causing any serious pain I would just take some aspirin (normal doses) to help fight off any potential infection and if it continues to bother you for more than three days go see a dentist. Do keep in mind that most dentists will only charge $40-$100 for a regular check up and that's probably the amount of your deductible anyways so at the very least you could have any dentist check it out just to tell you if it's something serious.

-sidethought....what kind of insurance do you have that you can't find a regular dentist???
Reply:Well, most likely its nothing serious. Probably just some swollen gums. Irritated. Maybe you bit something and it gave you a cut. It could be infected or something, so yes go to the dentist when you can.
Reply:Try using Hydrogen Proxide as mouthwash. Instructions are on the bottle.
Reply:find one asap, there might be and infection!!!!!
Reply:i have had that...its prolly just a piece of food stuck between your gums and teeth...floss and brush adn rinse with mouthwash...if it doesnt help find one soon!!!!!
Reply:Sounds like an allergic reaction(swelling and itching are common symptoms). Try taking a dose of benadryl. See if it helps. Try to be calm, panic will not improve the situation. If you don't have a fever, aren't in any pain and the swelling has dissipated, I don't believe it is an emergency. The website below addresses swollen gums, I found no serious conditions listed with your symptoms. It should be okay to wait until Monday. Then you can call your insurance and ask for a referral in your area. Hope this helps.
Reply:Have you gotten your wisdom teeth removed? if not then this sounds like your wisdom teeth are trying to come out. you could also have some gum infection, try to find any dentist to do some x-rays to see what it is, once you know find a place where your insurance would cover the fees. good luck
Reply:By the tooth being swollen I expect you mean that the gum near the tooth was swollen. It is important to take care of it soon especially if it is painful.

from the webmd article cited below.

Sometimes you may have tooth pain when you touch a tooth or when you eat or drink foods that are hot, cold, sweet, or sour (a sensitive tooth). Mild sensitivity can be caused by shrunken (receded) gums or a worn-down tooth. Moderate to severe sensitivity can mean a tooth has cracked, a dental cavity is present, or a filling has been lost. Seeing a dentist for treatment can prevent the tooth from dying.

The most common cause of a toothache is tooth decay, although toothache may not be present in the early stages of decay. Other reasons for a toothache might include:

An infection of or around the tooth (abscess). A red, swollen, painful bump may be found near or on the side of the sore tooth. The tooth may especially hurt when you bite down.

An tooth that has not broken through the gum (impacted tooth). Gums may be red, swollen, and sore. The area around this tooth can ache, throb, and be quite painful.

Problems with or injury to the nerves in the center of the tooth (pulp), which can be caused by an injury to the face or from grinding or gnashing the teeth.

Sometimes a toothache can be caused by a another health problem, such as:

A heart attack, cluster headache, or sinus infection, which can cause referred pain into the teeth or jaw.

Viral infections, such as shingles.

Diseases such as diabetes.

Nerve-related disease, such as trigeminal neuralgia.

Alcohol or drug abuse, especially methamphetamines.

Vitamin deficiencies, such as too little vitamin B12.
Reply:What were you doing at the the time the itch was sensitive, I would calm down rinse my mouth well every night at this point it is up to you, how painful is it.
Reply:There IS something going on, but I don't think it's an emergency. I would get it checked out as soon as possible. Itchy and/or irritated can be a sign of infection. If it's driving you crazy, there are dental clinics that are open on the weekends. Hope you're better soon
