What will the dentist do? (details inside)?

My tooth chipped. I hate the dentist. Ive only been there twice and im only 16. Both times were for an abcessed tooth. Well, it chipped almost past the gum. I dont want to get another abcess. And my appointment isnt until April. Its the closest they could get me in, since it wasnt a emergency. Will my tooth hold up until then? Will they pull it? Its like badly rotted.





One time I got a root canal. I hated it, I thought they took my whole jaw out! lol





My other tooth they pulled because it became abcessed. I just hope he pulls this one. I dont want them to cut up into my gums or go up into my teeth with these big instruments lol.

They cannot do a procedure that you refuse to have done. Express your concerns and have the tooth extracted

Reply:For a sixteen year old you seem to have had some major dental problems. I understand you don't like the dentist, but preventive maintenance, like regular cleanings and checkups could save you a whole lot of pain in the future.





I don't know what the options are for this tooth. It could be they will be able to crown it. Extractions are a last resort.
Reply:Candle is right but at 16 you should try and avoid pulling teeth as much as possibal...ur going to need them for a long time! I definently know about dental anxiety and have extreme panic attacks at dentists. I had a root canal and decided since that horrid day to always be sedated during work. Its usually $200-300 dollars and most insurance wont cover it but depeding on your nerves i think its well worth the money and im a broke college student!
