Is there a dentist or neurologist in the house?

I have gone to the emergency room already for this and no luck, my MRI was clean. I have had double vision since Thursday night. The only thing I can link it to is having had my upper left molar taken out in December. The dentist gave me a nerve block injection that caused me the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. The entire left side of my face went numb, including my eye. He took out the tooth and I was in excruciating pain for days. I'm healed up now, but as of Thursday I can't see straight. The emergency room doc said I should see a neurologist. Am I crazy or did my dentst injure on my nerves that serves my eye and facial muscles. The left side of my face looks different, less toned I guess. Please help me. Dentist did not even call me back about this and I have yet to see an eye doctor or neurologist. Can damaged nerves grow back?

Could be nerve damage, normally your eye should not be numb with an upper injection. This normally means the dentist injected too far back, this does happen sometimes but normally no complications. Another possibility is there was a hole torn in your sinus during the extraction. This is common with upper molars. You should probably see an oral surgeon or another dentist for an evaluation. ERs are not equipped to assess individual areas of the mouth like dentists are. A oral surgeon might be better b/c he/she could repair a sinus problem if needed.
