Can somebody tell me why there is no dentists working over christmas in ireland?

My fiance fell on the 22nd December and broke his three front teeth, I tried numerous dentists, local hospital emergency departments etc and i could not find one that worked until the 3rd January. The dental service should be ashamed!!!

if your fiance had been a member of denplan he would have been able to access a dentist immediately, denplan would have paid the dentist to come out to see him and paid for the emergency treatment, its a fantastic plan to join, nxt time you are in the dentist ask them about it. You could try going onto the denplan website and asking them to find you a dentist i am sure they would source one for you.
Reply:I see, dentists aren't allow to have holidays? They are supposed to be at your beck and call whenever your boyfriend is clumsy enough to hurt himself? You are the one who should be ashamed.
Reply:BECAUSE THE IRISH DON'T NEED A DENTIST, THEY JUST GO TO PUB, GET SNOCKERED AND GET IN A FIGHT AND HAVE TEETH KNOCKED OUT, THEN SWALLOW THEM TO SAVE FOR LATER !
Reply:They are on Christmas holiday like everyone else.

A hospital will deal with you if it is life threataning
Reply:What do you do for a living? I only took an extra day, but if it's tradition in Ireland to take more, then you can't fight tradition.

I'm surprised to hear that you can't get help even at the hospital, though. Does Ireland have NHS or something???
Reply:They're on holiday. Dentistry isn't usually life threatening.
