Have absess, on antibiotics for 6days now?

I got a deep cavity filled around three weeks ago in lower back tooth. It was painful over ten days, taking lots of ibuprofen but then this last weekend it got worse and my cheek swelled up the size of a golfball and really hurt, went to ER because it was Saturday and they said it's absessed, gave me antibiotic to take for 10 days. He said to go back to dentist in 7-10 days. My cheek has gone down quite a bit but still a hard sore knot on there and glands hurt still, but what's getting me is that the gums next to my tooth have bubbled up more and more each day. Why is that happening? Do I have to get it popped or what? why isn't the antibiotic taking care of that? I called doctor, they just said go see your dentist. I had to go out of town and hour away to see my dentist originally on an emergency basis because they are so booked up. I thought the infection has to be gone before they can do anything.I'm just really wondering what's going on with my gums. Should I pop it

The antibiotic the doctor has put you on has already killed any virus you may have. The dentist will probably pop it and then it sounds like you need a root canal. The dentist will remove the remaining nerves you have in that tooth. He will probably give you another script for antibiotic. Good luck!
Reply:u should not pop it by yourself..this will lead to an open wound and reinfection can occur.the antibiotic should actually help to control the infection.visit your dentist so he/she can have a good look at your real problem
Reply:remember this is poison in this bubble and absess so dont pop it at all

it is also making you feel depressed because there is poison in your blood stream from this, and it affects your mood

you need to go to the hospital

and say you need a better antibiotic

and better painkillers

penicillin

diclofenac

also get another appointment made with the dentist asap

when the swelling goes down

they will say its a dentists problem in the hospital

but you have to explain the the dentist is miles away and your appointment is not for ages

so you need these for now
